Icons
Our icons have a consistent
appearance and application across all touchpoints – building a seamless experience for our consumers.
The style of our icons is derived from our typeface, Electrolux Sans: simple geometric forms - straight lines and slight curved edges - that create harmony across our visual identity.
We use a circle shape to contain the icon idea or object, as shown by the examples here.
Icon and typography lock-up
When positioning and placing icons with copy, please ensure you do so consistently.
The copy should always be 25% of the icon width away from the icon. Icons and text should be aligned as shown on the right.
Icon spacing
When showing multiple icons
together, ensure the spacing is
equivalent to 50% of the icon size.
This applies to both horizontal and
vertical arrangements.
Icons should remain aligned.
Icon colour
Icons should be either white or
Electrolux Blue, tints and opacity
variations should not be used.
The type and icons should be the
same colour to maintain consistency.
When icons appear over the top of
imagery and video they should be
white to keep consistency with other video elements but can appear in Electrolux Blue if needed for legibility.
Designing your own icons
There will always be a need to create new icons and to bring existing icons into Electrolux icon style. This section demonstrates how to create new icons using a grid, consistent line weights and familiar geometric proportions. Follow these rules to ensure all new icons are created with the same aesthetic.
Icon creation

-
Icons should be created on a 600px by 600x grid
-
Icons should not extend into the 74px inner exclusion zone
-
The icon stroke weight should be 24pt
-
Icons should be as minimal as possible. They can be constructed using simple lines, circles, and numbers
-
Icon illustrations are to be placed centrally inside the circle
-
Text should be used sparingly within an icon
Icon and text
-
When text is used alongside the icons in videos, the text size should match the weight of the icons.

-
When using the 600px by 600px grid, use Electrolux Sans SemiBold at 180pt and scale proportionally as needed.
Icon dos and dont's
The icon circle should have a stroke, never a fill
Icons should be made with strokes, not fills
Wherever possible, the icon illustration should use the same stroke width as the circle
When using arrows, the arrow heads should be at a 90° angle with a squared stroke terminal
Icons shouldn't be too busy or complicated
These are a few examples of icons that have been simplified
Icon distribution
After approval of the new icon, please upload your designed icons to EML in an eps file format with a transparent background.
Our icons are produced in CMYK color space so please use CMYK values of Electorlux blue (100/90/13/63). The colors are optimized for the standard Fogra39 or ISO Coated color profiles.
