Locations

Our photography shows an appreciation for life and comfort at home. We capture how our products work seamlessly to create a healthy and ambient environment at home, while enhancing interiors with their beautiful Scandinavian design.

General principles

  • Rich and sophisticated interiors using colours inspired by our palette

  • Uncluttered environment with lots of space to create a feeling of space, freedom and empowerment

  • Contrast of natural materials: woods, metals and stone

  • Design-focused propping

  • Use balanced propping to bring
natural human warmth e.g. a blanket thrown over a lounge chair, freshly cut home-made bread

  • Include Scandinavian design
elements – both more iconic and popular premium e.g. Jakobsen’s Swan chair and Hay furniture

  • Link the outdoors if necessary through light and shadows

  • Backdrops can be used to create connection between indoors and outdoors

  • Avoid white, stark minimalist
    environments

Kitchen environment

We’ve designed these kitchen environments with maximum creative flexibility in mind so feel free to modify whatever is necessary to suit the shot’s creative purpose.
This can include but is not limited to:

  • Adding, removing and moving props and furniture

  • Moving products around

  • Changing the position or adding walls

  • When placing multiple appliances in the scene, make sure they are arranged in a logical and non-conflicting manner (e.g. can an oven be next to a fridge?)

When extending the set with new props always consider principles outlined in this document and previous productions to maintain
consistency with other videos.

There are 2 kitchen types: one with tiles for major appliances, and one without tiles than can be (but doesn't need to be) used for SDA/Wellbeing.

Limbo environment

We use the limbo environment as
an abstract space to show
products without an environmental
context.

  • It is a nondescript environment, reminiscent of a studio or a gallery space, used mostly to showcase specific features in see-through appliances

  • it can also be used for a standard product shot

  • Usually appliances are shown in appropriate environments; a hob in the kitchen or a washer in the laundry room, etc.

  • Sometimes,

  • Is also used to showcase functions of an entire range of products

New environments

There are times when a new environment will need to be created. We suggest only doing so in these following cases:

When fully replacing an existing environment with one performing the same function: (e.g. replacing an old living room environment with a newer updated one to be used in all subsequent living room productions)

When there are no previously existing environments that perform that specific function: (e.g. we release a category of product in a segment where there are no existing interiors in the media library)

When the environment will be used for a category of appliances that didn’t previously have a dedicated environment.
